  • ENDLESS SHIRT (2007) was developed for the forty-year anniversary of the interdisciplinary festival steirischer herbst in Graz, Austria. Through an intricate translation process based on memories and associations, the project reflects upon key words still stored in people's minds. Forty affiliates of the festival were asked to send a title or motto from past editions that they appreciated. From this list forty Amsterdam-based friends chose a phrase that resonated with them. Based on the year corresponding to the selected phrases, the friends were matched with a pose related to images from the T-shirts & Text folder of Archive Intersections. The ‘Amsterdam’ models, dressed in plain T-shirts, would re-enact these poses for a series of group portraits, shown at the exhibition Reading Back and Forth, curated by Reinhard Braun
